The woods, the Alpaca, and some Canadians

Friday morning I slept way too long. I didn't wake until about 11. I'm not used to that at all lol and I don't think I like it! I will not sleep this holiday away.

We started the day with Walmart!!! And Aunty Niki is a pro Walmart shopper. She spotted stuff left and right it was amazing! And we found the superman pillow case of my dreams!!!!! Yay :)

And we went for an afternoon coffee with this awesome couple!

Then later met up with this beauty!

Then the next morning with these guys!

It's been so fantastic re-meeting all these old friends. That was something I was so worried about, was how I'd feel after reconnecting. I was worried I'd be disappointed or that I'd be sad that I missed out on so much of their lives... But it's been the exact opposite. I've loved hearing all the stories of success and triumphs, of failures and of relationships and everything, I've found it so exciting to see where everyone is at now, 5-6 years later in their lives. It's like I've been put on the fast track and now I get to share in all these new friendships and relationships.

So Friday went incredibly fast! We had an afternoon coffee date with Andrew and Kir, then got back home and starts preparing a good ol fashioned perogies and farmers sausage meal to share with Janelle!! My bestest friend of all time! I couldn't wait to see her for the first time in 4 years!

It was awesome to see her and catch up over this mean feed :

Then Janelle whisked me away to a music and arts festival in Kelowna. The venue was sooo cool! And the acts all so different!

The stage was set in the middle of a forest!

Where there was alpacas! My new favourite pet! (Sorry dev but we WILL have one of these one day :p hehe)

They are so funny! I see them as the poodles of the horse world lol. Check out this guy...

RAAAWRRRR! And glare......

Haha these guys are so funny looking.

Nell and I explored the place and the venue was fantastic! I loved the design of the place! Especially this courtyard out back!

Then I went and watched the alpacas again and Nell went and found Jordon and I got this cute stalker photo hehe

Aren't they cute!?

Here's more photos from the woods

So Saturday morning came along and we had Miranda and her vbaby Elijah over :) he's the sweetest thing and it was soo good to catch up with Miranda! He was in a great mood and is learning stairs so he crawled up and down the stairs the whole morning content as ever!

Honestly the cutest little guy ever!

So when he got tired around 11 we took him to the car and he fell asleep right away! So Miranda invited me over for coffee and we had an even lovelier time as I got to see her home and keep catching up on the last 5 years!

Next up on the list of Saturday was a walk along Gellatly Bay and a visit to the nut farm!
More woods!! My fav <3

Look! I got a natural light leak! Woop whoop!

It was such a beautiful afternoon and we really enjoyed our walk!

My walk was made even better by the company of these two though!

There was such cool old buildings in this area!

Check out the lean on that barn!

That's the biggest nut tree! Our hands weren't touching on the other side!

So twisted!
Loving the shadows on the ground here

Aren't these two the cutest!?

So the sun was shining full blast and we decided to walk along the lake next :)

There were these great marble statues along the way!

And of course enjoying my stalker photos!

I'm just getting so good at them! Haha

I love the giant dandy lions!

So we returned home for......

UNCLE BRUCE'S FAMOUS SPHEGETTI!!! Yum yum yum yum!

Then we hid away in the man cave for the evening and ate ALOT of junk food! It was awesome!

SUNDAY.

man I've got a lot to catch up on in this blog lol.

For our morning church service we decided to go back to the art and music festival, there was some worhshp bands on first and i was looking forward to chillin out in the woods with the alpacas again!

It was Sunday I decided how pretty I think alpacas are and that I'm now destined to own at least one some day!

Just look how cute they are! Hehe

And I toured Aunty Niki and Uncle Bruce around the venue again and loved it just as much as the first time! It is a beautiful building! Look at all the layers in this perspective!

And of course I got to see Nelly again!

This painting is janelles friends work! They did it over the festival and now it'll get auctioned off and the proceeds will go to charity :)

They did a great job!

Next in the day was meeting up with Jenny for lunch at Red Robins where the burgers were soooo good and also so big that I got a hand cramp! Haha I reckon that should be their new slogan... "Burgers so big you will get a hand cramp"

And then off to the Kelowna mountain park trails we went!

It was easily 32 degrees outside. Lol may not have been the smartest day to hike these trails seeing as its the hottest day I'd been in in about 5 years lol BUT it was AWESOME!

Home to the longest rope bridge in BC :) also had one of the best views of Kelowna!

Haha dreamer....
Okay let's cross these bridges!

And enjoy looking down.... Lol

MAN that's hot out there! I'm starting to sweat looking at these photos again haha

That's our next bridge! The longest one in BC!

The view just kept on getting better!

I LOVE how they built all the structures around these mountains and not through them! Check out this example!

They built this shed look out thing around this rock haha pretty awesome.

Now it's time for this crazy as bridge. It wobbled soooo much!

This is a Toyota commercial shot lol. How did it get up there!?

There was this awesome sun dial made of big roman pillars! Looking out at this spectacular view.

We asked the workers what the owner of this place wants to make it into cuz everyone's just heard rumours! And he's making a family fun land lol with ski hills, vineyards, trails, shops, golf course, lol just heaps of stuff! We reckon he should put some louge trails in!

Then we spotted this below one of the bridges!!

A beautiful sleeping deer! Aw so cute!

We got to the cave with the chandelier but from all the rain the okanagans had it was flooded and the guys were cleaning it out so I couldn't get an awesome shot of it but here's what I got!

And there is this building which has been put up in about 2-3 months! It was like a Spanish villa! They will use it as a venue hall and there was so many workers on it as their first booking was the next day for 500 people so they had to get it finished!

Then we walked down the hill cuz there was a sign that said only construction workers last the lower parking lot BUT there were so many rule breakers! Haha we were too obedient and we had to walk down the mountain lol but it was such a lovely day! Even the heat wasn't tooooooo bad :p

That's Jenny being a babe :p haha!

Next up was a blizzard from DQ followed by going to C3 - janelles church to see her play in the worship team!

She did sooo great! After the worship though, we headed back home, exhausted from our big hike and ready for more time in the man cave!

MONDAY. CANADA DAY!!!

We slept in :) yay!

Then headed into beautiful peachland <3

Theres the first view of my hometown :)

We loaded up on the Canada day tattoos which are waterproof so I'm not sure when they will be coming off lol....

Yay Canada! Haha I'm laughing I think which is why I look like I'm snarling... Lol

And we ran into captain Canada!

Who turned out to be.....

Tim the tool man! Haha he walked right past me twice! The first time I said Hi! And he said "hi! You've just met captain Canada!" Then kept walking haha

It was great to see him! But not toad.... His dog.... He was sleeping and i pet him and he woke up snarling at me! Scared me silly!

So after a wee walk around down town we went up to my old home!

There she is! And there was ALOT of cars out front lol and also a whole lot of change to the yard it made me a bit sad. Our play house was still back there though!

Then we decided to conquer The Stairs.

These stairs are next to my old house and I loved going up them so we did it! 158 stairs to the top and check out the view!

Such a stunning valley!

I got this stalker photo of my old back yard so mom and dad could see it! They put in a back patio and a fence and stuff

Then because of the heat, we retired at the lake!
This was our set up!

And this was our view

And we were under a willow tree! Best afternoon ever :)
Then we started setting up for watching the parade!

My beautiful Aunty,

And awesome uncle!

Then we were surprised by Tony! He says hi dad!

And we loved this MASSIVE truck across from us!

Here's the Firemen part dad!

We discovered a hidden talent of ours! We are THE BEST at parade watching! We interacted with every float that went by and I kept yelling at the people who looked bored "welcome to Canada!" And got them all laughing away and I lost my little wavy flag so when a float went by that was passing out the flags (which was all little kids) I stood and yelled chuck them at me! And every kid on that truck chucked a decent amount of flags at us! We also did a little 3-man wave whenever we really liked one of the floats haha it was awesome and easily my best and favourite parade watching experience!

THEN because of the freakin heat, I ran into the lake! Lol

We had sometime to kill between the parade and the fireworks so we went and watched a 4$ movie at the West Bank theatre we saw now you see me which was an awesome film!

Then we returned to Peachland for the fireworks!

And this year, the flag didn't catch on fire!
