It's "Ya hoo!" Not "Yee Haw!"

THURSDAY.

So the Rockies were awesome and Calgary was fantastic!

Thursday Tyson was goin to take me shopping but I woke up quite a bit before him and Deanna was around so she dropped me off at the Cross Irons shopping centre around 11 :) and I literally shopped until I dropped! 6 hours I wondered around the mall, had Tim Hortons for lunch, made some awesome sales and then was picked up by Tyson.

There's my haul! Pretty good if I do say so myself! Got those dark jeans for only $9.00 from Aristotle!

Then that evening Lindsay came and got me and I had a second Capers reunion! It was soo much fun to have a hot dog roast and we even made s'mores!

I just love everyone's facials in that last photo!
It was so good to see everyone and hear how everyone's been and congratulate Nicole and Russell!

Then Lindsay treated me to a movie and we saw the Heat with Sandra Bullock I haven't laughed that hard in a movie in soooo long! And the popcorn was amazing.

FRIDAY.

Friday Lindsay picked me up in the morning in her cute daisy duke jeep and we went to the stampede! We did the c train park and ride which went through the city, and also right through the middle of the stampede parade. We stopped a garbage truck that had a gigantic horse head covering it lol it was a pretty funny float!

When we got to the park it was actually pretty quite so we decide to hit the rides first! It was awesome there were no lines and no waits! So I gotta do all the fun ones without any hitches!

So after the rides we played one game where you has a ring on the end of a fishing line and you have to get the ring around the nose of a bottle and lift the bottle up to a standing position. This game is so hard that if you can do it then you win a massive teddy right away! Well guess what?! I WON!

Just kidding, but Lindsay won! On her second try!

She chose a cute white buffalo!

And we had a great time!

Next we hit the market and wandered through there for a couple hours!

I found an awesome (lol but cheaply made) First Nations arrow that I got cuz I really liked it AND I decided to get this beautiful calf hide. It's so soft and absolutely beautiful colours! I got mine for $60 and I checked it out later online and discovered that the same sized skin from ikea is $200 and mine is soooo much prettier! For the win!

W had a bit of time to kill so we wondered further into the stampede and discovered the agriculture centre where there's heaps of farm animals! No alpacas but donkeys and ponies and horses and cows!

Here's a baby horse! He was incredibly soft!

Here's a pony!

This horses bit is all hand made and apparently extremely expensive, sure looks nice though!

This poor horse was freakin out and runnin in circles in his pen. see all the dust flying around his feat?

And DONKEYS!

Then we headed off home and just as we got on the train it started drizzling. And when we arrived at our stop we got outside and about 15 seconds later its POURING! We ran to Lindsay's jeep and I'm just laughing and shrieking the whole way while trying to shield my cowhide haha it was so awesome!

That night Kelly took myself, Tyson, Zach and Jake to Les Mes. It was fantastic and the singing was beautiful! Thank you so much for that treat Kelly!

SATURDAY.

I slept in!!!! Yay :) I was starting to feel a bit sick with a cold or flu or something so it was nice to get to sleep in a bit!

I got to read a chapter or two if game of thrones, visited with my cousins a bit then Tim, Kelly and I went to zachs lacrosse game! I love that sport! It's so fast and quick!
Then I got dropped off at Krista Vorleys work place! I loved it! It's a cute little yarn shop in an area called Inglewood called Stash. They had soooo much Yarn stuff I loved it!

Krista and I walked to the CBD which was about a 25 min walk and had dinner at Earls and just caught up! Then she took me down to the riverbank where all the flooding was (and is still happening!) and we wandered along there for a few hours.

We made our way back to her apartment (which is so central it's awesome!) and she showed me all her cool knitting projects! (Doesn't sound cool but trust me it is so cool!) and waited former boyfriend, Brady to get back from Kelowna. Then we went out to a bar called National and I tried a raspberry beer (def not as good as a cherry beer lol yuck.... Beer....) and after a while (oh I gotta mention there we police officers with "gangster squad" written on the back of their vests at one point in the bar! Thought that was pretty funny!) Brady and Krista drove me back to the NW of Calgary to Tim and Kelly's! Brady also has a daisy duke jeep!! But his is black so it's not so daisy duke-like!

SUNDAY.

Sunday was my last day in Calgary. We went to Rock Pointe Alliance (which is Tim and Kelly's church) and the pastor was great! He did a fantastic sermon on Daniel in the lions den. I agreed with most of what he said, there were a couple contradictory points though but that may have been because he was trying to get 6 points into one Sermon lol. But he was a fantastic speaker! Very captivating and good stories.

Then Kelly dropped myself and Tim off at a farmers market for a while as she dropped Zach off at home and turned with Tyson for us to go to lunch at a bar called hudsons, which had FANTASTIC food! I had a chicken caesadea which may have been the best one I'd ever had!

After lunch we returned home for one hour while I packed and had a 15 min nap (I'm so exhausted! Stampeding is hard work!) then Tim, Kelly, Tyson, Jake and I went to watch another of Zachs lacrosse games where they destroyed the other team 18-2! I started feeling bad for the other team at the 8-2 point in the early second period.... They were just dominating out there!

Then ALLLL of us went to the stampede for the chuck wagon races and the grand stand show!

Sorry there's so much writing for this entry and not enough photos! Calgary was busy and exhaustingly awesome so I didn't take too many photos!

Uncle Tim's law firm sponsored a wagon this year so we had some back stage passes for a pre-race BBQ and seats that were right up close to the race track.

This is uncle Tim and his business partner Katherine and the wagon they sponsored! Unfortunately there was a mix up with their logo at the printers and instead of gold on black it inverted to blue on black and you can't see it too well :( but, our wagon came first in our heat! Yay!

These horses looked so cool!

Then Kelly and I went to the grand stand show and the boys hung out in the barns (the backstage area). The grand stand show was amazing they put so much work into it!

They had giant skeletal metal framed horses with 2 people inside operating them running over head of the performance and dancers, singers, musicians and more! And fireworks!

Then after we were walking out to meet the boys and we came across this:

Deep fried ANYTHING really lol.

Cheese cake, shortbread, Oreos, pickles, chocolate bars, bananas, anything! And everyone has told me I have to try at least one crazy deep fried item at the stampede, and I wanted to try the cheese cake but it was way too big! So I went for....

Deep fried Oreos!

And totally regretted it the next morning.
